Welcome to Lancashire Language Academy. These Terms and Conditions are here to help make everything clear, fair, and transparent for everyone involved. By booking a place with us, you are agreeing to the terms below.

1. About Us
1.1 Lancashire Language Academy (“the Academy”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides language learning programmes for children, young people, and families.
1.2 We organise, host, and administer classes delivered by our approved tutors.
1.3 Teaching services are delivered by independent tutors who work with the Academy. The Academy acts as an agent in relation to the organisation, booking, administration, and fee collection for these services.

2. Our Role and the Tutor’s Role
2.1 The Academy is responsible for:
  • Organising and structuring courses
  • Selecting, licensing, and curating curriculum materials for certain programmes
  • Booking and enrolment
  • Communication with customers
  • Premises (where applicable)
  • Safeguarding systems
  • Administration and scheduling
2.2 Our tutors are responsible for:
  • Delivering teaching sessions
  • Planning and preparing individual lessons using the Academy-approved curriculum and materials (where applicable)
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Maintaining professional standards
2.3 For certain programmes, including our Spanish courses, the Academy uses licensed third-party curriculum content. We organise these materials into a structured learning pathway to ensure consistency and continuity of learning, even if tutors change.
2.4 While we always aim for consistency, tutors may occasionally change due to illness, availability, or other unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we will always aim to ensure continuity of learning. But cannot guarantee it

3. Booking and Payment
3.1 All bookings are subject to availability.
3.2 A place is only confirmed once payment has been received.
3.3 Where a deposit is required, this is used to secure the student’s place and is non-refundable.
3.4 Payments may be taken as full course fees or in blocks, depending on the programme.
3.5 By making a payment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

4. Fees and How Payments Work
4.1 The Academy collects fees on behalf of the tutors who deliver the teaching service.
4.2 A portion of your payment relates to the teaching service provided by the tutor, and a portion relates to the Academy’s organisation, administration, safeguarding, and hosting services.

5. Fixed-Length Courses (Including 12-Week Courses)
5.1 Fixed-length courses run for the full stated duration.
5.2 By enrolling, you are committing to the full course.
5.3 Course fees are non-refundable, except where required by law or in exceptional circumstances at the Academy’s discretion.
5.4 Missed sessions, holidays, or changes in personal circumstances do not normally entitle you to a refund or credit.
5.5 If we are unable to continue delivering a course due to exceptional circumstances, a pro-rata refund or credit may be offered at our discretion.

6. Cancellations and Missed Sessions
6.1 If the student is unable to attend a session, this will be recorded as a missed session.
6.2 Missed sessions are not normally refundable or transferable.
6.3 If a session is cancelled by us, we will offer a replacement session or credit wherever possible.

7. Tutor Changes
7.1 We aim to keep classes consistent, but sometimes tutors may need to change due to illness, availability, or unforeseen circumstances.
7.2 A change of tutor does not normally entitle you to a refund.
7.3 All tutors working with the Academy meet our professional and safeguarding standards.

8. Behaviour and Conduct
8.1 We expect all students to behave respectfully towards tutors, staff, and other learners.
8.2 Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from a session or course without refund.
8.3 Parents and guardians are expected to communicate respectfully with staff at all times.

9. Safeguarding
9.1 The safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority.
9.2 Any safeguarding concerns will be handled in line with our safeguarding procedures.
9.3 Parents and guardians must inform us of any medical, behavioural, or learning needs that may affect participation.

10. Use of Premises
10.1 Where classes take place on Academy premises, all safety instructions must be followed.
10.2 We are not responsible for personal belongings brought onto the premises.

11. Liability
11.1 We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury except where required by law.
